Welcome! My name is Amy Vinson and I am one of the speech-language pathologists (SLP) at Southern Elementary. I received my masters degree in Communication Disorders from Marshall University and have been a practicing speech therapist for 18 years. As an SLP, I work with students that have:
- difficulty pronouncing sounds correctly
- delayed language skills
- difficulty speaking fluently (stuttering)
- voice problems (ex., hoarseness due to nodules)
- hearing impairments that result in speech or language delays; I also complete routine hearing screenings
Overall, my role is to improve communication skills, so that all students can learn in the classroom.
Since I share my responsibilities with another SLP, I typically work with second through fifth graders, as well as with the students in the highly structured classroom.
I am looking forward to starting a new school year! If you need to contact me, you can reach me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
or by phone at 863-0772 ext 7026.
