As you are aware by now, this will be my last year as principal of Eastern Elementary School. This decision was not made easily, but after serious consideration and discussion with my family it was decided by me that the time had come to officially retire. I have truly been blessed and honored to have served my entire educational career spanning 13 years as a teacher and 17 years as your principal with the Scott County school district. I cannot fully express in words how much I have enjoyed serving as your principal and the attachment I will forever have to the children, staff, and parents who make up the family of this wonderful school. The 11 acres on which Eastern sits will forever be hallowed ground to me. I sincerely thank everyone for all the fond memories I will take with me and cherish forever. Also, thanks to all parents who have worked so hard through the years to make Eastern such a successful school and a warm, happy place for our kids.
The selection process of choosing my successor will be conducted by Patricia Putty, Superintendent of Scott County, in consultation with the current Eastern Elementary Shool Site Base Council in the upcoming days.
In conclusion, I leave Eastern with great comfort in knowing our children will continue to receive the personal care and guidance that is second to none. May God continue to bless Eastern and help continue to carry on the tradition of always doing what is best for kids!
