Principal's Message

Meagan Willhite

We are off to a great start this school year! All the hard work our staff has put into starting this new year is paying off. Students are excited to come to school each day, and everyone seems so happy to be in a regular routine!

Our Boosterthon fundraiser was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated. The school raised over $20,000, and we plan to put part of that money towards purchasing a climbing wall for the gym.

Our 4th and 5th graders participated in a Bike Rodeo brought to us by Norton Children's Hospital. Students learned about bicycle safety and had a great time!

Our Site Based Decision Making Council will be holding an election for a minority parent representative. A minority is defined as "American Indian; Alaskan native; African-American; Hispanic, including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban and Central or South American origin; Pacific Islander; or other ethnic group underrepresented in the school." A parent is defined as "a parent, stepparent or foster parent of a student; or a person who has legal custody of a student pursuant to a court order and with whom the student resides." SBDM meets the second Monday of every month at 3:00. Meetings typically last less than an hour. If you are interested in running for this elected position, please email Mrs. Willhite.

Be on the lookout for some exciting things coming for families and students! We will be hosting a family movie night in October, as well as an at-home dinner club to encourage cooking and conversation.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I can be reached at, or by phone at (502) 570-8800.
