Lori Sargent is the new principal of Anne Mason Elementary School. Sargent is currently assistant principal and professional growth and effectiveness coach at Booker T. Washington Elementary School and has been in this role since 2013. Previously she was an elementary school teacher at both William Wells Brown and Williamstown Independent.
“Lori Sargent’s enthusiasm, heart for kids, and ideas for helping all students succeed won over the Anne Mason SBDM council members,” stated Assistant Superintendent Maurice Chappell.
Chappell chaired the school’s SBDM council through the principal selection process. Council members voted unanimously in favor of Sargent.
“Lori will bring a fresh perspective to Anne Mason and Scott County Schools,” Chappell continued. “She has a lot of experience and expertise to share with teachers at Anne Mason as well as other principals in the district.”
“I am so excited for the opportunity to work closely with the students, families, and staff of Anne Mason Elementary,” Sargent reflected. “We will continue the great work that is already in progress to create a school of excellence.”
Sargent has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Midway College and a Master of Science degree from Walden University. She received education specialist certification to teach English to students of other languages from Nova Southwestern University and earned a degree in principal leadership from Asbury University.
Lori Sargent currently lives in Frankfort with her husband Jeff, daughter Jesse, and son Jeremiah.
“I look forward to serving our school and community,” Sargent said.
