The early years of development are most important to a child's educational success. The Kentucky Education Reform Act established public preschool programs for children at risk of educational failure, including 4 year old children who qualify by family size and income, and 3 and 4 year old children with disabilities or developmental delays.
Scott County Schools welcomes the opportunity to provide quality preschool programs for children in our community. Our preschool programs are based on developmentally appropriate practices as established by the National Association for the Education for Young Children, and include certified teachers, specifically trained and KY certified in early childhood education.
Scott County School's preschool program provides for the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of children in a safe and healthy learning environment. We work to help each child develop a positive self concept and attitude toward school, and provide opportunities for each child's success. We are responsive to the comprehensive needs of children and their families, and we encourage active parent involvement in the child's education and development.
On behalf of all preschool staff, Scott County Schools, and the Scott County Board of Education, I welcome you to the preschool program. We are pleased to have the opportunity to serve our community's parents and young children. If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please let us know. If at any time I may be of assistance, please call.
