My name is Maggie Brewer.  I am originally from Worthington, Ohio.  I moved to Kentucky to attend Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.  I have been teaching for 19 years.  At West Jessamine Middle (1 year), Mercer County High School (7 years), and most recently at Boyle County High School (6 years).  I earned my master's degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies from Eastern Kentucky University, I became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2007 and renewed my certificate in 2017. I've been working on my doctorate at the University of Kentucky for the past 4 years. Content area literacy is my passion and I spend a lot of time working with the Writing Projects at EKU and U of L as well as the National Writing Project. I love working with the KYYMCA and help Mr. Burgoon, Ms. Booth, and Mr. Conner to sponsor the Y-Club. I am also the coach for the girls' lacrosse team.
