Carrie Patterson has been named principal of Creekside Elementary School. Patterson has served as assistant principal at Eastern Elementary School since 2017. She started as a teacher at Eastern in 2003.
Patterson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Georgetown College and a Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership and Director of Pupil Personnel, Curriculum Instruction, and Superintendent certifications all from Eastern Kentucky University.
Assistant Superintendent Billy Parker served as chair of the selection committee. “Mrs. Patterson already has relationships with many of the teachers, staff, students, and families who will attend Creekside,” Parker stated. “Her experience and qualifications make her the perfect candidate for this position.”
A Scott County native, Patterson believes this opportunity is a chance to give back to the community that has given so much to her. She will create an environment where students and staff feel respected and valued at the new school.
“I am so humbled by this opportunity,” Patterson reflected. “I look forward to opening a new school, developing a strong instructional program, and welcoming students and staff to Creekside.”
Carrie Patterson lives in Georgetown with husband Randy and children Wyatt and Allie.
Creekside Elementary is currently under construction off East Main Extended in Georgetown and is on schedule to open in August 2019. Congratulations to the new leader of the Creekside Cougars, Principal Carrie Patterson!
