Page named GCHS boys' basketball coach

Steve Page

Steve Page has been named boys’ basketball coach for Great Crossing High School.  Page has dedicated his time to basketball in Scott County working to develop middle school players.  His work resulted in two state middle school titles for Scott County Middle School.

In the position of head coach, Page has the challenge of building a basketball program at GCHS during its inaugural season.  Principal Joy Lusby believes she chose the right person for the job.

“Steve Page is a top level basketball coach that also understands the importance of building great young men,” Lusby stated.  “I look forward to watching his teams on the court and, more importantly, watching his players become future leaders within our community.”

SCHS basketball standout Michael Moreno shares this sentiment.  “Steve Page understands what basketball means to Scott County,” Moreno said.  “Coach Page helped develop me as a basketball player and helped me become the person I am today.  Coach Page is getting the opportunity he deserves.”

"I am humbled and honored by the opportunity to lead the Great Crossing High School boys' basketball team,” Page commented.  “We will build a program that will have a winning mindset, be focused on the development of the student athletes, and will represent Great Crossing High School and our community in a positive manner."

Page has 16 total years of coaching experience also working with the AAU basketball program and serving as lead assistant varsity coach for Frankfort Independent.

A Georgetown native, Page is a member of the SCHS class of 1988, and a graduate of Georgetown College.  He owns a State Farm Insurance agency and has experience in marketing and sales.  Steve Page lives in Georgetown with his wife Tonya.

Meet Coach Page and the other members of the GCHS winter sport coaching staff during a special event scheduled for Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30pm at Elkhorn Crossing School.  Follow GCHS athletics on various social media platforms to learn more about the development of the program and additions to the boys’ basketball coaching staff.
