Gullett Named Southern Principal

Anthony Gullett

Anthony Gullett has been named principal of Southern Elementary School.  Gullett has dedicated his career to Southern serving as assistant principal since 2007 in the building where he was a teacher for 20 years.

“Anthony’s character, work ethic, and passion for education are representative of the professionals we have leading our schools in Scott County,” commented Superintendent Dr. Kevin Hub.  “He has been an outstanding assistant principal at Southern.”

April Wilhoite is a teacher at Southern and served as assistant chair of the school’s Site Based Decision Making Council during the selection process.  “Anthony Gullett’s love and care for the students, staff, and families of Southern Elementary is undeniable. We are thrilled that he will be serving as the new leader of our school,” Wilhoite reflected.

“I am proud of our school's dedication to collaboration and student-centered decision making,” Gullett said.  “It will be my honor and privilege to lead the faculty, staff, and students at Southern.  It has been my home for 31 years and, more importantly, my heart.”

Principal Gullett and wife Shannon call Georgetown home along with their three children, Pallie, Piper Ann, and Parks.  He will officially take the reins on July 1, 2018 upon the retirement of Principal Bryan Blankenship.
