Covington to Retire, SCHS to Hire New Principal

The Scott County High School Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council is seeking feedback from all stakeholders to identify key characteristics for the next leader of the school.  The survey is open and available until 9:00pm on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Please click the link below to access the stakeholder survey.

SCHS Principal Survey 2018

The principal position is open as a result of the upcoming retirement of SCHS Principal Joe Pat Covington.  Covington has served in the role of principal at SCHS since 2015.  He was assistant principal at the school for nine years.  He taught science at both SCHS and Tates Creek High School and previously served as district athletic director.

"I will miss the daily interaction with our students, faculty, and staff," Covington noted.  "SCHS is blessed to have a great staff that truly cares for students and our students are simply fantastic."  During his retirement, Covington plans to continue to serve the Scott County community, the place he calls home.
