Scott County Online Learning Academy (SCOLA)

Scott County Online Learning Academy (SCOLA) will be an option available to students and families this fall.  Scott County Schools listened to feedback from students, families, and the community to develop a program that provides a high level of instruction from home.  We realize that some students require more flexibility to accommodate their educational needs and believe that SCOLA is a viable option to meet those needs.

SCOLA will serve a diverse population of students previously enrolled in public, private, and home schools.  Any student in grades K-12  may apply to Scott County Online Learning Academy.  The school will offer an asynchronous program called Imagine Learning paired with the support of a mentor-teacher, counselor, and principal.

SCOLA will be free of charge to current Scott County residents.  It is also open to out of district students based on a fee scale.  Students enrolled in SCOLA may participate in extracurricular activities like sports, clubs, and school events offered by the home-districted school.

“SCOLA allows our district to provide an educational option for students in their home environment,” stated Heather Brown, Principal of Scott County Online Learning Academy.  “SCOLA staff will be available to support and nurture students along the way and ensure their academic success.”
