Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts Finalists Named
Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) recently announced the names of 256 sophomore and junior students from across the state who were chosen for their 2020 summer program. Established in 1987, GSA is a residential arts camp which runs for three weeks on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Students who attend will focus in one of several artistic areas: Architecture + Design, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Film + Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art, or Vocal Music. An education program of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, GSA is offered at no cost to the students who are admitted. The program is very competitive and requires both an audition portfolio as well as an in-person audition and interview.
Scott County High School is thrilled to announce our very own Sydney Lewis has been selected for Creative Writing! Alumni of the program are eligible for many scholarships at colleges and universities across the state. Well done Sydney!
